AW25 is here, bringing with it the perfect reason for a fresh new look. Makeup artists across London, Paris, Milan, and New York have once again created a blueprint for autumnal style with looks that inspire creativity, drama, and individuality. To get you excited, let’s count down five standout makeup trends straight from the catwalks to spark your seasonal glow.

Statement Wings

This season’s eye looks are all about graphic impact, with Chanel’s look as the inspiration. Peter Philips’ exaggerated winged liner was created in brushed strands to look like cartoon lashes, stretching boldly past brows, paired with polished complexions and plush pink lips, was a highlight of AW25 Paris Fashion Week. The Chanel models wore headbands and bows, but the brow-brushing graphic liner took centre stage.

Merlot Lashes

If graphic liner isn’t for you, I have the perfect subtle eye trend alternative. Victoria Beckham’s London show took classic mascara into new territory with a subtle flash of merlot on softly perfected skin. Makeup pro Lucia Picagave models bright, flawless skin, then topped lips with a sheer glaze for freshness. Merlot lashes are the ultimate AW twist; unexpected, but totally wearable with just a flick of wine-toned mascara along the upper lashes.

Burgundy Lips

AW25 runways in Milan and Paris made gothic burgundy the “it” lip shade of the season. Versace shows featured saturated wine hues with a velvety finish, for an elegant, modern edge. Models wore deep berry or oxblood lips on clean, almost bare skin for balance. To try the look: choose a matte burgundy lipstick, keeping edges crisp, or add a hint of gloss for a fresher effect. This dramatic lip trend is perfect for night, but can add instant polish to daytime looks too.

Sculpted Blush

Blush played a starring role at shows such as Annie’s Ibiza and Chloé, with makeup artists creating contoured, statement cheeks to evoke a renaissance glow. Shades ranged from rich berry to warm peach, boldly swept across cheekbones and temple areas for a natural flush of colour. The sculpted blush not only lifts the face, but gives a healthy, flushed look even in cooler months. For AW25, blend deeply pigmented creams and powders higher on the face, embracing dramatic placement.

Ombré & Clashing Lip Liner

Avant-garde lip liner is experiencing a comeback this season. The Vivienne Westwood AW25 show played with statement contrasting graphic liner, while bold black or brown outlines around vivid reds created a “lipstick-by-numbers” effect. This playful, eye-catching lip artistry makes a big fashion statement. Wearable? Perhaps not, but make it party-season ready by going a single shade darker on your lip liner or opting for 90s-ready nude and brown hues.
